Theme: Being Celtic and Catholic
Our 2008, Spiritual Ceili was the weekend of October 31, the holy feast of All Hallows at Kirkridge Retreat Center in Bangor, PA. Kirkridge is a beautiful retreat center here in the Pocono Mountain area. It is adjacent to Columcille Megalith Park, "a playground of myth and mystery located in the Appalachian Mountains of eastern Pennsylvania" where one is transported in mind and soul to the early Celtic sites while walking and praying among the megaliths, a reminder of Iona. The weekend was planned by Father Vincent Pizzuto and Deacon John Hayes and the theme was centered around what it meant to be Celtic and Catholic. Father Vincent gave a presentation on what it means to be Catholic as a Christian, and Deacon John gave one on being Celtic. Our guest presentor, Rev. Martha McGill, shared her personal experience as a Catholic in the Episcopal tradition. Mrs. Judy Kahler led a meditative walk through Columcille Megalith Park adjacent to Kirkridge. The weekend was captured in pictures taken by our official Church photographer, Rev. Kathleen Connell. A DVD of the weekend is available for $15.00. Contact Rev. Kathleen Connell to order one.
